Pigmentation occurs when our skin begins producing excess melanin. Lip pigmentation can be caused because of excessive melanin production. ■ SOME USEFUL TIPS TO REMEMBER :
♡ HYDRATION IS THE KEY: Drinking enough water is a must to maintain a healthy body. It's also applicable for the lips too. Dehydration can make our lips and the area around our lips look dull and dry.
♡ KEEP THE LIPS MOISTURISE: Lack of moisturization causes dry and chapped lips. Keep the lips well moisturized all the time. Moisturized lips appear to be less pigmented.
♡ LIP BALM WITH SPF: Sun exposure is one of the main reasons for lip pigmentation. Start wearing a lip balm with an SPF that will protect the lips from further damage.
♡ QUIT SMOKING: If you want to bring back your original lip colour, you have to quit smoking immediately. Unless you do it, no treatment can help you with lip discolouration.
♡ USING GOOD QUALITY PRODUCTS: Our lips are very sensitive, using low-quality products can irritate the lips. Choose lip care products wisely to avoid any kind of reaction.
♡ STOP LICKING LIPS: When our lips become dry, we start licking our lips to moisturize them. It's a terrible idea as it makes our lips even drier. Instead of this consume water or apply a nice lip balm to keep them soft and plump.
♡ HEALTHY DIET: Taking care of our diet is essential as a lack of certain vitamins and minerals cause dark lips.
If you are suffering from lip pigmentation and it's affecting your confidence, please use the diy remedies or visit a doctor to treat it.
