Gram flour or besan is one of the most common ingredients that most people love using in beauty rituals. It is extremely gentle but highly effective. It can be used in different beauty remedies for different purposes. Ubtan is a traditional beauty remedy that our ancestors have been using for centuries. Gram flour is used as a base for ubtan. So I need not tell you about the benefits of gram flour. It is a blessing for our skin.
Today's post is all about gram flour and how can we use it as a natural face cleanser for different skin types. You can just apply gram flour with a little bit of water and it will change your skin for the better. I have used a few other ingredients along with gram flour to make the remedies more beneficial.
NOTE:-PLEASE DO A PATCH TEST BEFORE APPLYING ANYTHING ON THE FACE TO SEE IF YOU ARE ALLERGIC TO ANY OF THE INGREDIENTS.
1. GRAM FLOUR OR BESAN FACE CLEANSER:-
- Take 1-2 tablespoons of gram flour and add a pinch of wild turmeric or normal turmeric powder to it.
- Mix well.
- Now use raw milk (dry to normal skin types ), or green tea or rose water ( oily to combination skin types ) or drinking water (sensitive skin type) to make smooth liquidy consistency.
- Apply this on a normal or wet face and massage for 1-2 minutes.
- After that, if you have time leave it for another 5-7 minutes or you can wash it off with normal water.
- Try using it once a day.
- Gram flour cleans our face beautifully. It absorbs oil and dirt from the pores and makes it squeaky clean. Wild turmeric is full of antioxidants that defend the skin from sun damage. Raw milk will deliver extra nourishment to dry and normal skin people. Green Tea or rose water is ideal for oily and combination. Sensitive skin people should it with water as it won't irritate the skin.
- Take 2 tablespoons of gram flour and 1/2 tablespoon of neem powder,1/2 tablespoon basil powder and a pinch of wild turmeric or normal turmeric powder.
- Use the required amount of green tea to form a liquid paste.
- Apply this on the face and massage it gently for a minute.
- Rinse it off with normal water. If you want, you can keep it on for 5-10 minutes.
- Use it once a day.
- Besan regulates excess sebum production. Neem and basil both are rich in antibacterial and antifungal properties that fight acne-causing bacteria. Wild turmeric heals and repairs the skin. Green Tea maintains the collagen production of our skin. It is also anti-inflammatory properties that help with skin discomfort, redness and breakouts.
- Take 2 tablespoons of gram flour, 1 tablespoon of oats powder and 1 tablespoon of flaxseed powder. Mix the dry powders properly.
- You can use cooked rice water or normal water to make a paste. Make it a little bit liquidy, so that it will be easy to apply it on the face.
- Just like any other cleanser, after applying it massage for a minute.
- Wash it off with normal water.
- It can be used once a day to clean the face.
- Gram flour and oats powder when combined, they create a wonderful skin cleanser. They complement each other very well. Flaxseeds powder is great for glowing skin. It contains a high amount of omega 3 fatty acids that moisturize the skin. It also has anti-ageing and anti-oxidant properties. It promotes skin firmness. Cooked rice water slows down the ageing process.
- You can mix the dry powders in a small container. Keep it away from moisture and it will last for 1-2 months easily. Prepare small batches so that you can finish it off easily.
- All of the above-mentioned cleansers can be used as a mask. If you want, you can rinse them off with water or you can keep them on for 5-10 minutes, before washing them off with water.
- Try using wild turmeric in the cleanser as it has many skin benefits and meant for skincare.
