Oiling our hair is an essential part of our hair care routine. It makes our scalp and hair healthy, strong. It also deals with various hair problems such as hair fall, dull and rough hair, dandruff, etc. A good quality hair oil can make a huge difference in the way our hair looks. You can use any natural hair oil available in the market. But most of the time they can be really expensive. So I prefer making my own hair at home.
NOTE:- If you are underage or not good at cooking or afraid of fire, please take an elder's help. Please do not hurt yourself.
To make this hair oil the ingredients that we will be needing are:-
- Extra Virgin Coconut oil 200 ML
- (Kalonji Seeds) Black Cumin Seeds.
- Fenugreek Seeds ( Methi Seeds).
- Onion 2-3 medium size
- Indian Gooseberry (Amla) -3-4
- Curry Leaves - 10-15
- Neem Leaves - 10-15
- Brahmi Leaves - 10-15
HOW TO PREPARE THE OIL:-
- Firstly take the onions, gooseberries, curry leaves, neem leaves, and brahmi leaves and wash under running water thoroughly.
- Now in a plate put all the leaves to dry for 30-40 minutes. Or you can dry them with the help of a cloth. Just make sure, there is no water on those leaves as we are going to put them into the hot oil.
- Next, cut the onions in small pieces and grade the gooseberries with the help of a grader.
- After that, take a pan and put it on the gas. Make sure to keep the flame on low.
- Pour the coconut oil in the pan and after 2-3 minutes add both the cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds. Cook it for another 5 minutes.
- Next, add the onion pieces and cook for 5 minutes. Keep stirring it. Now add the grated gooseberries and stir for 10 minutes.
- At last, add all the leaves and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the ingredients turn brown in color.
- Now, turn off the gas and cover the pan with a lid. Keep it there to cool down.
- After 2-3 hours once it cools down, you can strain the oil with the help of the muslin cloth or cheesecloth. And keep the oil in a glass bottle.
NOTE:-
- Always store the oil in a glass bottle.
- You can store the oil at room temperature.
- It can be stored up to 6-12 months.
- You can use this oil as normal hair oil for head massage.
- While using the oil, you can also mix essential oils such as tea tree essential oil, rosemary essential oil to it.
- It can be used in the regular hair packs also.
